IPL 2020: Fantasy Cricket League Platform Dream11 Named Title Sponsors

Fantasy cricket league platform Dream11 has been named title sponsors for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020, after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Chinese smartphone-makers Vivo suspended their contract for this year. Dream11 outbid companies like Tata Sons, Unacademy and Byju’s to bag the title sponsorship deal for the cash-rich league. Dream11 bid Rs 222 crore for the sponsorship rights, IPL chairman Brijesh Patel said. Unacademy had bid Rs 210 crore, Tata Sons Rs 180 crore and Byju’s had bid Rs 125 crore. Vivo and BCCI postponed their partnership for one year due to the prevailing India-China border stand-off. Under the deal with Vivo, BCCI were receiving Rs 440 crore per year. Kuwait’s football league to resume from 15th Aug

KUWAIT, Aug 14: Kuwait’s football league will resume on Saturday, with Kuwait Sports Club versus Al-Naser Sport Club. The resumption of the football league comes after suspension since March due to the coronavirus. The step complied with the cabinet’s decision made last Thursday. Tomorrow’s match, held without audience, was delayed from the 11th round of the league, when Kuwait club was taking part in the Asian Champions League (AFC) qualifications. The 15th round will kick off next Thursday with Al-Shabab VS Al-Tadhamon and Al-Yarmouk VS Al-Sahel. Kuwait club is currently in the lead of the league with 30 points, ahead of Al-Qadsiya who comes second with goal difference.(KUNA)
